  • Community Development Actions

The FRC delivers ongoing community development workshops to local groups to enhance peoples skills in relation to participation, decision making processes, lobbying and advocacy so as to promote social support and community cohesion at a local level.
As part of this capacity building the FRC supports Local Residents Associations in conjunction with Waterford City Council’s Sustainable Neighbourhood Unit, i.e. providing support and help with the organisation of special events.

Raising awareness and providing information on issues, topics and services of relevance to individuals, families and the wider community is an essential part of the work of the FRC.

This is achieved through local, regional and national information and awareness events.

An annual Community Safety Month is delivered in conjunction with City Council which provides information talks for the local community from Gardai, HSE and Fire Service about personal / home / neighbourhood safety.
