Settling In
It is the policy of St. Brigid’s Children Centre that children new to the service should settle in with minimal distress and that families are both involved in and adequately prepared for the event.
- Families are encouraged to visit the service with their child to meet with members of the staff team who will be caring for their child.
- The aim of these visits is to familiarise themselves and also their child with the childcare setting.
- There will be reduced times for the first few days for the child with a gradual increase.
- Parents are encouraged to remain in the service, and use the parent’s area facilities, to collect early or to make visits. The settling in procedure is to be achieved in a child centred manner
