     Who We Are

St. Brigid’s Children Centre  community childcare centre located in Powersfield, Hennessy’s Road,Waterford. We are part of St. Brigid’s Family and Community Centre

    What We Do

We provide high quality childcare that is affordable, accessible and inclusive in a child centered environment where children play, have fun and learn under the care of dedicated and professional childcare staff.

The Children Centre is an integral part of St. Brigid’s Family and Community Centre.  Our business is Community Development and Support.  And what better way to support families and encounter community participation than with the provision of quality affordable and accessible childcare. Our curriculum and programmes reflects the diversity of our children and their families.  We provide experience and learning opportunities appropriate to each child’s stage of development and focuses on the holistic development of the child.

In the Children Centre children are supported to engage as active agents in their own development and learning and explore their environment and participate in problem solving and decision making.

Our staff are highly qualified and experienced and appreciate the value of play in a child’s learning process.

We value the role of parents and families in the lives of children and we work in partnership with them and involve parents in all aspects of our service and their child’s education.

Some of our parent’s supports include parenting groups, workshops, information provision and one to one work, along with the additional services available on theLower Yellow Road such as counselling, play therapy and family resource centre.  We hope to enable our parents to be the best possible parent they can be and maximise their input in their child’s life.

Our aim is to provide a ‘one stop shop’ for families by delivering parenting workshops, family support and group activities.
