Parent Plus Parenting Programmes
What is the Parents Plus Parenting programme ?
The Parents Plus Parenting Programme is a 6 – 8 week Programme which focuses on positive parenting and positive discipline techniques that parents can implement in the home to manage behaviours.
The group offers a supportive space for parents to give/gain advice from others in similar situations.
What does the Programme cover?
Specific areas of interest are covered in each programme such as:
- Setting Routines
- Using Consequences
- Communicating with your child
- Sanction Systems
- Play and Special time with your child
- Managing Challenging Behaviours
- Encouragement
- Parental Self Care
The Programme is designed in a way that each week a positive parenting and positive discipline technique is covered.
Is the Parents Plus Programme for you?
The Parenting Programme is for any parent who feels they would benefit from some additional information, guidance and support around helping them in their role as a parent. There are two Parents Plus Programmes that St Brigids provide.
- 0 – 3 years
- 4 – 12 years ( Primary School Going Children)
Who is running the Programme?
The Programme is facilitated by two qualified staff from St Brigid’s FRC who have experience in working in the area of family support and who are trained in the Parenting Programmes.
This programme will be delivered 2- 3 times over the course of the year pending a sufficient level of interest.

New for 2018 – Parenting When Separated Programme. This Programme is designed to support individual parents who have or are currently separating. The Programme looks at the impact of this separation on children, communication and how parents can create a more positive environment for your child during a difficult time.
