The Community Employment (CE) programme is designed to support individuals who are long-term unemployed to return to work by offering part-time and temporary placements in jobs based within local communities.
St. Brigid’s has 24 places on the Scheme based in St. Brigid’s Centre, St. Brigid’s Shops, and in Portlaw Community Resource Hub. The Scheme also has participants based within other organisations in Waterford City and County, namely Citizens Information Service, Children’s Group Link, Tintean House and N.C.B.I.
Certified training is an integral part of the Scheme. Participants have opportunities to engage in a wide range of training including QQI courses. Vacancies are advertised on Jobsireland. Click here to learn more.
The Community Employment (CE) Scheme is funded by the Department of Social Protection, (DSP). A recent initiative from DSP allows all participants aged 60 years to remain on the Scheme until retirement age.
